67% of those 575 initial candidates who were WorkKeys tested were eligible to start most programs without remediation.
Based on Compass scores of new students in 2013, only 24% could start their program without remediation.

Within an average of 3 months, 2 out of 3 clients who remediated through our Adult Learning Academy raised their Applied Math, Locating Information and Reading for Information at least 1 skill level to enter program. (Scale score increased averaged 2 – 3 % over the period)

Those scoring a Level 5 or greater in Applied Math, Locating Information and Reading for Information had little difficulty in understanding the curriculum material. The completers averaged 93% on their Perkins Technical Skill Assessment (TSA).

Instead of relying on college placement test (COMPASS) for reading, candidates were admitted to the program with a WorkKeys RFI score of Level 5.   When tested on Compass Reading upon completion for statistical purposes, 8 of 9 passed.

Locating Information is most difficult assessment for candidates and it is the skill that companies generally seek the most.
Post testing is not taken seriously if non-high stakes
WorkKeys Reading for Information may be a suitable reading placement test for career programs.

Preliminary data indicates that WorkKeys may be a good predictor of success on Perkins Technical Skills assessments.
Collecting and correlating WorkKeys and Compass results is a complex process requiring institutional will and resources.

For short-term accelerated training programs, WorkKeys is effective for assessment, remediation and driving increased employer satisfaction.
