Diana, Princess of Wales Diana, Princess of Wales

Diane was born in the family estate Park House, near the English town of Sandringham. Her parents' house was next door to the Norfolk estate owned by the Queen of Great Britain. Diana was only six years old when her parents divorced. Diana remained with her father. The events connected with the divorce stayed forever in the memory of the girl.

Soon the girl was in a private school of "New England". After her graduation she spent several years in France, where she improved pedagogy and psychology. In Europe, Diana learned to ski, and completed a nursing course. Returning to England, Diana began to work as a teacher in the school of "New England" which she once finished. Just at the time she met Prince Charles during the hunting at the Spencer estate.

Charles was an adult, the prevailing heir to the British throne, and he should find himself a wife from a noble family who would become the wife of the monarch. And Diana was a suitable candidate for the Royal family.

She was a romantic girl dreaming of her home and family. She was ready to make any sacrifice in order not to repeat the mistake of her parents. Apparently, Diana fell in love with Charles. Their romance grew rapidly. Soon it was announced about their engagement. On July 29, 1981 in St. Paul's Cathedral a magnificent wedding ceremony took place.

Lady Diana was the first Englishwoman for three hundred years who married the heir to the throne. Normally the English kings chose their wives outside the state. However, the marriage fairy tale of the princess and the Prince of Wales gradually began to crumble. There were several reasons. Prince Charles was twelve years older than his wife and did not share her interests. Diana dreamed of love and wanted to see the same feelings from her husband. Being brought up in strict rules the Prince was not accustomed to such a spontaneous expression of emotion.

Soon after the wedding Diana gave the nation the heir - William.

After birth of the second son, Harry, Charles said that he dreamed about the girl, not about the redhead boy. Being passionately fond of their children, Diana was hurt. So the rift between the couple began to widen.

Meanwhile, Diana's popularity continued to grow. Gradually she got used to public, began to dress appropriately, demonstrating the great taste.

Diana with Prince Charles still continued to perform the duties, accompanied him during official visits, but she had already begun other life of a young independent woman.

Diana wanted to be an example for their sons and demonstrated her excellent physical shape. As for Prince Charles, he only recently began spending their holidays with his sons, riding with them, going skiing and hunting. Before that all responsibilities for the upbringing of the boys were performed by Diana.

Children gradually grew, and Diana had more free time.. In 1987, all the newspapers of the world had a photograph of Diana holding the hand of an AIDS patient. Princess has become a national patron of the fund to fight AIDS. The photo – Naomi Watts in “Diana” 2013

With the increasing popularity of Diana grew her alienation from the Charles. He did not understand what his wife wanted, and saw only her desire for popularity. She had to admit that she was loved by the whole world, except her husband. Desperate to find an understanding from her husband, Diana had intimate relationships with different people who used it openly. Newspapers literally lapped each scandal in the Royal family, because since 1981, the couple had almost continuously accused each other of infidelity.

Three years later divorce proceedings began. Diana was an opponent of divorce, but she had to give up. August 29, 1996, was an official divorce. According to the agreement with the British Royal house Diana received $ 28 million, while having lost the title of "Her Royal Highness". But her son William retained the right of succession.

However, the popularity of Diana had not diminished. People wanted to know all about their favorite. Journalists literally chased her. Diana once even had to declare that she stopped social activities because of the inconsiderate behavior of the press. She frantically tried to establish her own life and was even thinking about buying an apartment in New York.

Diana's last love was the son of an English businessman of Egyptian origin Daoud Al Fayed. After a joint holiday with Princess and her children on the Cote d' Azur in France the princess agreed to marry him and in the coming days they announced their engagement.

Diana was supposed to tell the children about her decision after the return from France. Paris was the last city to see her alive. After dinner, Diana and Dodi got into the "Mercedes", which was to take them to the family mansion in Paris. Photographers who work for the tabloids were waiting for a loving couple at the entrance to the hotel and started to chase them on motorcycles.

One version of the tragedy says that the driver, trying to get away from the chase, increased speed, and in the Alma tunnel car crashed into a support column. The blow was so strong that the car turned into a pile of twisted metal. Dodi and the driver died on the spot, doctors fought for the life of Diana for about six hours. At that time Charles and the children were in Scotland.

Diana funeral became an occasion for a new scandal in the British kingdom. The Royal family gave permission for the funeral of Diana after a long delay in accordance with her former position. Under the pressure of public opinion Queen Elizabeth was forced to cede, behind the coffin of Princess walked Queen’s husband the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and two sons, as well as Diana's brother, Lord Spencer.

According to the last will of Princess Diana, she was buried in the family estate Althorp in Northamptonshire, on a secluded island in the middle of the lake.
