You should allow yourself 15 minutes for each question

6. Still-Life Int 2 part b Compare and contrast two still-lives by different artists. How do the artists uses of media handling and composition suit their subject matters.

7. John Bratby, Still Life with Chip Fryer 1954, oil paint on canvas. In this painting, Bratby has deliberately depicted ordinary, everyday things. Describe the effect of his use of tone, composition and media-handling in this painting.

Cornelia Parker 30 Pieces of Silver (In this still-life, Parker has suspended 30 flattened silver items from nylon thread so that they lie a few inches above the floor) Discuss the effectiveness of the artists use of materials, form and techniques in this still- life. What ideas do you think she was trying to communicate? (10 Marks)

11. Product Design Int 2 part b. Compare two different product designs by different designers. Discuss the success of the designers uses of materials and sources of inspiration in creating designs suited to their function.

12. Stainless steel bookcase by Ron Arad, 1993 Discuss the effectiveness of this design, commenting on aesthetics, use of materials and function. (10 Marks)

13. Michael Graves, Salt and Pepper pots, designed for Alessi, 1985, plastic and polished steel Michael Graves is famous for his simple and fun designs. Comment on the form and functionality of these items giving your own personal opinion on their success as designs. Who do you think these products were targeted at and why? (10 Marks)
