Many products are sold through more than one channel
Each channel has its own unique set of rules, restrictions, and benefits, and is designed to meet the needs of different types of customer
Selecting the appropriate channel for your needs depends upon many factors

Many Windows Embedded products do not require per device activation. For those which do, an Embedded OEM has the opportunity to apply for OEM Activation, removing the need for per device activation during your production process.

An Embedded OEM, if they wish, is allowed to create a recovery CD (or other media such as a USB Flash disk) so that the end customer can easily reinstall the original OS image in case of a failure in the field.
The media can contain not only the OS, but also the OEM application, and can even be branded by the OEM to increase the perceived value of the solution.

Virtualization is used most often in Server solutions when multiple virtual resources are created against an emulation layer that makes them believe they have exclusive access to the underlying hardware. OEMs are using this technology to save cost, enable high availability, long lifecycles, simplify development and installation.
In the Windows Embedded channel, our licensing enables our OEMs to run 2 virtual instances of Windows on top of a Standard Edition Windows Server OS.

The license terms of Windows Embedded permit the OEM to build a product which includes multiple languages in a single OS build.
The “Multi User Interface” pack (MUI) solution is available for many Client and Server Windows Embedded products and gives the OEM the possibility to purchase one version of the runtime license and deploy any combination of language support.
