2 The present study tour proposal is to offer a special chance to go & learn “at the source” from those who have developed and have been applying with success and for years the methods and the management principles finalized to the attainment of economic results and corporate development. The “Master Class in Lean Production” business trip represents a unique occasion to learn from Japanese “sensei” (masters) and directly apply the Lean Thinking tools in the genba. We will encourage participants to:  Watch first hand application of the Lean principles in companies of the Toyota Group;  See live the application of the most advanced techniques of operations management and verify which methods and tools can be replicated in Europe;  Learn how to use the operations management techniques and the Lean Production methodologies;  Understand how to apply the tools in one’s own company, fostering the involvement of people. 3 For further information: www.jmaceurope.com To the roots of Lean Thinking |Participants| The trip is addressed to entrepreneurs, managers and change facilitators of manufacturing or service companies having already started a transformation path with a Lean view or willing to evaluate the opportunity of implementing a change management project. The participants will be helped and guided in Japanese territory by expert consultants of JMAC Europe who will foster the focalization of attention on the most important points of the visits through moments of preparation and of collective reflection. The Japanese teachers are professionals with several years of experience, not only in the realization of courses, but also in the practical and operational management of factories in the Toyota Group. Particular importance is placed on direct communication and debate with the teachers: to facilitate the conversation with our teachers and guides the group will be accompanied by an interpreter of JMAC Europe, with a deep knowledge of both the language and the topics being considered.

4 To the roots of Lean Thinking |Journey Contents|  In-depth visits to four or five companies. Each visit will be focused on a topic and will be followed by a panel discussion among participants for reflection and summary of what was observed.  The pattern typical of each visit includes: Presentation of the company by a local manager usually accompanied by a consultant from JMAC Tokyo Explanation of the main innovative aspects and methods on focus during the visit Safety Instructions Guided tour to the production departments Final debriefing session with the possibility of asking questions to Japanese managers and consultants  Each visit will be focused to explore some key aspects of the management for the implementation of a genuine "LEAN“ system Just in Time / kanban System Industrial engineering / visual management & 5S Facilities management and TPM  One day seminar on the latest applications in the field of manufacturing and / or process innovation and product held at the headquarters of JMAC Tokyo, followed by a discussion and a view exchange among the participants about the "lessons learned" from the trip.  One day off (Saturday) for shopping e sightseeing For further information: www.jmaceurope.com

5 To the roots of Lean Thinking |Agenda *| A “TYPICAL” WEEKLY SCHEDULE  Saturday: departure from Europe (e.g. Milan – Malpensa airport)  Sunday: arrival in Japan  Monday to Thursday: visits to local companies − Gifu Shatai (a company owned by the Toyota group: production of commercial vehicles and minivans) during the day, we are hosted by the GPS Training Center which is connected to Gifu Shatai where in-depth seminars are held about the TPS principles. Q & A is also provided for. − Toyota Motor Corporation – a production plant in Nagoya area − Other 2 or 3 companies outstanding in the JIT or TPM systems  Friday: Meeting and lecture at JMAC Tokyo premises  Saturday: one day off for shopping and sightseeing  Sunday: leaving Tokyo and arrival in Europe. * The schedule here show is an overall pattern subject to change according to the requests from attendees and the reception possibilities of the local companies For further information: www.jmaceurope.com
