Achieving the educational aims of the school should be an equal priority for teachers, students and families alike, each one according to his or her own role.” This sense of community, of cooperation and of respect is central to Holyrood Secondary as a Catholic school. 2

7  Take account of any lessons learned in presentation for new Nationals in 2014 [including recommendations from the Scottish Government working group].  Make changes for 2014-15 to better support pupils, to reduce the burden of assessment and to spread the assessment load better across the whole Nationals course so that students and staff maximise teaching time and allow breathing space for learning.  Nat 4 added value unit in S3 or in earlier part of S4 so that this is banked.  Professional judgement of staff to decide whether to go for the new Higher in 2015 or hold to 2016. [What’s in the best interests of our pupils?] 7

8  Introduction of new Highers for some subjects and preparation for 2015-16 for others.  Consolidation of Nat 4s, 5s and Nat 3/ Access where appropriate.  Continuing to build an outstanding school community where pupils and staff grow together to reach their maximum potential. 8

9  Learning opportunities in the widest sense.  Clubs and activities [Extended and more varied lunchtime and after school PE activities; continuing pursuit of excellence in team sports especially Football, Netball, Rugby, Cricket reputations; new Samba band in Music and extension of instrumental provision, Choir, Ceilidh Band; School show with Music and Drama co-leading; Drama Clubs; Computer Games Club; Film Club]. 9

10  British Council learning links. [Germany, Romania, Lebanon, Turkey, Spain] with cultural and language exchange visits to most.  School trips in the past year to Paris, Amsterdam, Cattolica, Mexico, Malawi, Auschwitz.  Extensive opportunities for more local learning visits outside the school. Political Debates, Universities and Colleges, Gardening and Agriculture, Fire Station, M and Ds, Alton Towers. 10

11  Faith development opportunities including Retreats  Cultural and Theatrical, Cinema.  Sport [ Professional Football and Rugby, Commonwealth Games, etc etc] Future Plans for Wild Meadow and a landscaped area to enhance our curriculum. 11

12  New qualifications  Change from horizontal to vertical Pastoral Care arrangements.  Change to configuration of the school day.  Working on  Tracking of Pupil Progress from S1 to S6.  Embedding all new qualifications.  Enhancing our curriculum in line with C f E; thinking creatively about using our school environment 12
