30 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Supervisor by Position EmployeeEmployee Position SupervisorSupervisor Position # 194 – Mike806 – Director-- 192 – Gus803 – Development SupervisorMike806 - Director 192 – Hank804 – IT SupervisorMike806 - Director 188 - Walter800- Programmer IGus803 – Development Supervisor 191 - Todd801 - Associate ProgrammerGus803 – Development Supervisor 191 - Todd805 - Computer TechnicianHank804 – IT Supervisor

31 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Supervisor by Position Prior to Version 11 – Todd has 2 Positions and 2 Supervisors – Employee Master – Only lists Hank as Todd’s Supervisor

33 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Supervisor by Position What if Personnel changes occur Gus retires and Walter takes over?

34 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Supervisor by Position The only update needed is the Position within Employee Job/Salary

36 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Supervisor by Position What needs to be enabled to use this? – Personnel Settings  Position Control

37 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Supervisor by Position

Benefit Arrears – As Much As Possible Jillian Pulsifer, Payroll Product Manager

51 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Benefit Arrears – As Much As Possible When working for benefit costs, situations arise where employees may not have enough earnings to cover their cost of their deductions A new insufficiency option has been added which applies to calculation codes that are non-gross based

52 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Benefit Arrears – As Much As Possible This new option allows for an organization to take as much of a deduction amount as possible from the employee and then cover the remainder of the amount when the employee does not have sufficient earnings This new option will work correctly with pre-tax deductions. The amount that is “taken” from the employee in the payroll is pre-tax, as are subsequent collections. Collecting the arrearage can happen in the payroll automatically. A new Bill Processing option has been added that interfaces with Accounts Receivable (AR) to allow for the insufficient amount to be collected from the Employee via bill. Employees must be receiving some pay for this functionality to work. An employee with no earnings will NOT have arrears tracked with this functionality.

53 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Benefit Arrears – As Much As Possible In the following example, benefit costs covered by the employee should have been $100 Withholding

54 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Benefit Arrears – As Much As Possible Second withholding amount is flagged as ‘I’ – Employee Insufficient

55 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Benefit Arrears – As Much As Possible Insufficiency amounts are tracked through Employee Benefit Premium Arrears to either be collected within another payroll or to allow for a GB invoice to be created. Repayment options are set by deduction code Repayment can be set to automatic which will generate into the payroll automatically until the full balance is paid.

56 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Benefit Arrears – Billing Process Benefit Premium Arrears – A search can be performed by Employee or by Deduction to generate a General Billing invoice through Accounts Receivable

57 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Benefit Arrears – Billing Process A Customer Record needs to exist within Accounts Receivable for the Employee being billed – If this record does not exist, the ‘Generate Bill’ process will automatically open the Customers program and populate the necessary information from the Employee Master record.

58 | © Tyler Technologies 2014 Benefit Arrears – Billing Process Accounts Receivable Charge Codes must exist to create GB Invoice
