1 Do You Know Jesus? 1

2 Hebrews 2:9-18 “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.” 2

3 Do you know what Jesus came to do?  Luke 12:49-53 “Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you not at all, but rather division.” 3

4 Jesus asked His Apostles: “Who do men say that I am?” Matthew 16:13-17 1. "Some [say] John the Baptist” 2. “some Elijah” 3. “and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.“ “But who do you say that I am?” 4

5 Peter answered: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Christ means King! 5

6 Jesus was a Sacrifice! Matthew 16:21-23 "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men." 6

7 Jesus was a Willing Sacrifice! John 10:17-18 "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father." 7

8 Jesus is First Place!  Colossians 1:15-17, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” “And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” 8

9 Jesus is to have First Place in everything!  Colossians 1: 18, “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” 9

10 NO OTHER NAME BUT JESUS, BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED!  Acts 4:8-12, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."  Ephesians 1:21-22, “And He put all [things] under His feet, and gave Him [to be] head over all [things] to the church,” 10

11 Jesus is Deity  Colossians 1:19-20, “For it pleased [the Father that] in Him all the fullness should dwell,”  Hebrews 10:1-5, “Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me.” 11

12 Jesus is Deity  John 8:58, “Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.’”  John 10:30, “I and [My] Father are one."  John 20:30-31, “but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. 12

13 Jesus the Judge! Acts 17:30 “He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead." 13

14 Jesus is our Judge! 2 Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things [done] in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 14

15 Belief in Jesus Alone will not save you!  John 12:42-43, “Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out 0f the synagogue;  John 12:42-43, “for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” 15

16 If you know Jesus, why don’t you obey Him?  Luke 13:23-26, “We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.”  Luke 6:46, “But why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I say?”  Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord,” 16

17 Jesus could be your Savior  John12:44-50, "I have come [as] a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.”  "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak." 17

18 Hebrews 5:7-9 “though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the Author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.” 18
