1 Database – Kits Kits… Opens the Machinings library management dialog box.

2 Machinings library management buttons : Is used to start the process for creating a new kit. : Is used to delete the currently selected kit. : Is used to change the name of the currently selected kit. : Opens the Print kit… dialog box.

3 Print kit… dialog box A list of all the kits is shown. Any number of kits (from one to all) may be selected to print. A detailed report for each kit selected is printed.

4 Detailed report

5 Database – Kits: Drilling Drilling Used for defining the Drilling kits.

6 Drilling Kits Select Drilling and New in the dialog box. Be aware that kits for drills are automatically created when the tool is defined. Editing may be all that is required.

7 Drilling Kits A New kit is started. Type in the kit’s name and press enter.

8 Drilling Kits The kit properties appear under the kit name. The tools available for use appear in the Tools column.

9 Drilling Kits Click on the + next to properties to expand the list. The values default to the Machinings configuration for Drilling that was defined previously.

10 Drilling Kits The properties values for this kit may be edited. The edited values will not change the default Machinings configuration.

11 Drilling Kits Optimize: With this checked the NC program will be written to minimize tool changes for this tool. Blowing: The hole core is ejected from the core bit with air.

12 Drilling Kits Add a tool to the kit by selecting the tool and either dragging it into the Tools used window and releasing it or by clicking on the blue leftward arrow.

13 Drilling Kits Click on the + next to the tool to see its properties. These are the same as defined when the tool was created. They may be edited here and will affect only this kit.

14 Drilling Kits Click on Ok to save all changes made to the Kits database. This will also close the dialog box.

15 Drilling Kits Since the kit for a drill is created automatically when the tool is defined, making a new kit is not required.

16

17 Milling Kits Select Milling and New in the dialog box. Be aware that kits for mills are also automatically created when the tool is defined. A new kit may not be required.

18 Milling Kits A New kit is started. Type in the kit’s name and press enter.

19 Milling Kits The kit properties appear under the kit name. The tools available for use appear in the Tools column.

20 Milling Kits Click on the + next to Properties to expand the list. The values default to the Machinings configuration values for Milling that were defined previously.

21 Milling Kits All of the property values for this kit may be edited. The edited values will not change the default Machinings configuration.

22 Milling Kits Prehole: Is the parameter that allows for automatic drilling. It has 4 optional presets with Automatic being default. Set the kit to Automatic and adjust the parameter when the kit is used.

23 Milling Kits Stop machine: Stops the machine after machining is completed and waits for manual restart. C rotation and Fillet internal corner: Change the tool path to compensate for a too small radius.

24 Milling Kits Angle and Z bending are properties that can create a chamfered edge.

25 Milling Kits Machining side: Right (preferred) Lead in and Lead out: May change to linear, perpendicular or tangent. Values for T, P, Z, and L may be assigned here.

26 Milling Kits Overlap: Distance a tool travels past its start point on a closed path. The Chain/Path options help to set up the proper tooling directions.

27 Milling Kits Click on the + next to the tool to see its properties. These are the same as defined when the tool was created. They may be edited here and will affect only this kit.

28 Milling Kits Click on Ok to save all changes made to the Kits database. This will also close the dialog box.

29 Milling Kits Since the kit for a mill is created automatically when the tool is defined, making a new kit is not required. Instead, just edit the existing kit and add a drill if needed.

30 Milling Kits Finger bit kits need a core bit added for drilling a hole for an inside cut. All the tools used in a kit must be defined in the tools database before the kit can include them.

31

32 Cut Kits Select Cut and New in the dialog box and type in a name for the saw.

33 Cut Kits Add the saw tool to the kit.

34 Cut Kits Set the depth value to a little bit more than the average stone thickness. Alter any other properties as needed.

35 Cut Kits Edit the advanced settings while keeping in mind the suggested cutting conventions

36 Cut Kits Edit the saw settings if desired

37 Cut Kits Click on Ok to save all changes made to the Kits database. This will also close the dialog box.

38

39 Pocketing Kits Select Pocketing and New in the dialog box. Enter the name of the pocketing kit.

40 Pocketing Kits A pocketing kit has 5 stages to define with tooling.
