2 TRISH ANDROS CARLO Certified Professional Life Coach Certified Experiential Learning Coach Certified Eagala Equine Specialist Loretto, Ontario 705-435-5388 Email: trish@storybookmeadows.org www.storybookmeadows.com WHY HORSES? Horses are intuitive animals and acutely perceptive of their surroundings. Through their attentiveness to the present, they mirror the emotions of those interacting with them. Their emotional and physical responses demonstrate to the participant, in a non-judgmental way where changes are needed in order to achieve goals. Horses are large and powerful, which creates a natural opportunity for some to overcome fear and build confidence. Accomplishing a task involving a horse, in spite of those fears, develops inner strength and security, and provides for wonderful metaphors when dealing with other intimidating and challenging life situations. No horse experience is required; all activities are done from the ground. PROGRAMS FEATURED: Youth: During activities with horses, youth learn alternative ways to respond rather than to react to various situations. They find hope for their life challenging issues as they experience changes with the horses and discover who they are. Family: Equine activities are designed to develop parent-child bonding and build strong communication skills and more respectful relationships for the family. Domestic Violence: Horses will provide teaching support in relational skills such as courage, boundary setting, self respect and respect from your children. Addictions: Through the equine activities the many faces of addiction will fade as individuals become aware of their personal triggers and they develop relapse prevention mechanisms.
