5 General information The institution/institutions submit the proposal The contract is signed between Host Instituton and The European Commission The Host Institution is obliged to publish their offer on the website (who can apply, when, the selection procedure)

6 Where to go? To every institution which has signed the contract with The EC – for MC action Host institutions can be in EU, Acceeding states, Associated states, Third countries. Host Institution makes the enrolement

7 Mobility of the researchers: -the researcher should not be a national of the hosting country -may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work,studies etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference deadline for eligibility

8 Who can apply? Every researcher – no age limit, but experience and expertise decide Early-stage researcher: - researcher in the first 4 years of their activity ( since the graduation till the moment of gaining access to doctoral studies) Experienced researcher: - researchers having at least 4 years of research experience - researchers already in possession of doctoral degree, independently of the time taken to acquire it

9 Community contribution For each eligible researcher, host can opt bewteen: -recruiting him/her under an employment contract/fellowship with full social security coverage -on a fixed-amount fellowship with minimum social security depending on the legal and/or administrative situation of the host organisation and/or researcher.

10 Monthly living allowances - correction coefficients Travel allowances - one payment for every period of 12 months - constant amount- based on the direct distance between the place of origin and the host institution of the researcher Mobility allowances –Fixed amount (relocation, family charges, language courses, etc.) –500 € for researcher without family charges –800 € for researcher with family

13 Early Stage Research Training The main aim: to encourage mechanisms to improve coordination and mutual recognition between the participating organisation, and quality of the training to support the development of the offer of structured training and its internalisation, for researchers at the beginning of their careers. EST only for early stage researchers from member States, Associated States and Third Countries

14 The HOST INSTITUTION recruit and host the eligible researchers. Each researcher has to: - establish - together with personal supervisor - a Personal Career Development Plan (comprising training needs, scientific objectives and later on report, etc.) - Duration: between 3 month and 3 years for the training opportunities for the researchers

15 Project might be lead by: - a single host (one participant), if necessary supported by research group/groups at local/regional level in the same country; - multi-partner hosts (more than one participant), there must by at least 3 host organisations established in 3 different Member States or Associated States.

17 Research Training Network The main aim: - to provide a flexible framework for the structured training, esp. of early stage researchers, and to undertake collaborative research and transfer of knowledge, esp. in the case of experienced researchers - to provide platform for training, for transfer of knowledge and career development of the researchers RTN for early stage researchers and experienced researchers

18 The HOST INSTITUTION recruit and host the eligible researchers Each researcher has to: - establish - together with personal supervisor - a Personal Career Development Plan (comprising training needs, scientific objectives and later on report, etc.) - researchers are involved : in exchanges between teams, network meetings, collaborative research or the dissemination results - Duration: between 3 month and 3 years for the training opportunities for the researchers

20 Marie Curie Excellence Grants The best research team - built up around a researcher who has early in his career the potential to reach a high level of excellence - to enable him to attain more rapidly a position with responsibilty for leading a team that executes a leading edge and/or interdisciplinary research programme. The aim is to help create excellent, transnational, dynamic and stimulating focal points in Europe.

21 Duration of the project: maximum 4 years Avialable for PhD students to experienced researchers There are 9 founded projects

22 MC Conferences & Training Courses Eligible researcher: - early stage researchers - experienced researchers ( up to 10 years of experience)– only when the possibilities offered in contract are not used for early stage researchers

23 Series of events At least 4 events should be included during 4 years It should be series of events (training courses, conferences, summer school) concerning the same topic Subsistence expenses: –Real expenses up to a maximum 150 euro per day (correction coefficients) –Travel allowances – real expenses up to a maximum of the reference rates –Participation fees of eligible researchers
