4. High School Targets The number of students taking AP classes each year will grow by 5%; the number of students who take the test and who receive 3, 4, or 5 will increase by 5% each year. The number of students scoring 20 or better on the ACT will grow by 5%. The graduation rate will increase by 5% per year. The dropout rate will decrease. College enrollment rates will grow by 3.5% each year to at least 63% in 2013.

High School Targets The number of students concurrently enrolled in college classes will grow by 3.5% per year. 85% of freshmen and 90% of sophomores will be On-Track (credits earned) to graduate by the end of May 2012. 9 th & 10 th grade students will demonstrate 5% combined increases in scores on the TCAP tests.

16. Off Campus vs On Campus Lunch 9 th Grade – On Campus Lunch ONLY 10 th -12 th grade have the PRIVILEGE of On or Off Campus Lunch if ALL 10 th -12 th Grades have 90% attendance or better. How this works…. –Every Friday we will calculate all 10 th -12 th graders attendance for the week – WHEN it averages 90% OR BETTER they have off campus privileges for the entire next week! –Every Monday they will be told if they have the PRIVILEGE of Off Campus lunch or Not.. –If attendance for ALL 10 th -12 th graders is below 90% for the week, the campus is closed for the following week. –Every week they earn it back by getting 90% attendance each week!

17. School Planners/Agendas and Supplies Students must have a North High School planner and use it in every class. Students are expected to write the daily Content & Learning Objective and/or homework/practice assignment posted in their classroom each day in the agenda. Students must show your agenda to your Learning Community Mentor every day at the end of the day. Students are expected to have all necessary school supplies in all of their classes. This includes agenda, binder, composition notebooks, paper, pencil, pen, etc.

18. Dress Like a VIKING SCHOLAR - Uniform Policy Shirts: North Logo Gear in Viking Colors or Solid White, Black, or Viking Purple polos, short or long sleeved t-shirts. Under shirts must be white, black or purple. Slacks, shorts, or skirts: Blue jeans or Black, Grey, White, Purple or Yellow pants/jeans. Must have a hemline no shorter than the student’s fingertips when their arms are down by their side. Belts: White, black or brown and must not have any insignia. Sweatshirts: North Logo in Viking Colors or Solid Black, White or Viking Purple hoodies are permitted – hoodies must stay down.

19. Dress Like a VIKING SCHOLAR - Uniform Policy– continued… Headwear is not allowed in the building (hats, caps, bandanas, du-rags, etc.) Students who fail to follow the dress code will need to contact a parent to bring the appropriate item and may be required to stay after school. If you are not in correct Viking Uniform, you will be required to wear a loaner shirt for the day. This loaner shirt is to be returned at the end of the day or a $4 charge will be added to your school fines.
