History 1948, Foundation of Hungarian University of Economic Sciences; 1953, The University receives its name after Karl Marx; Late 60s, Progressive steps toward market-oriented education; 1970s, 80s, Radical reforms, structural reorganizations; 1991, Karl Marx University of Economic Sciences title is changed to Budapest University of Economic Sciences;
History 1996, The BUES accepted as CEMS member; 2000, The Corvinus University is created by the integration of the University and the College of Public Administration; 2001, The Corvinus University is accepted as PIM member; 2003, The former University of Horticulture joins Corvinus University;
