Why Do I Need to Use a PDF? A FDF file may be opened and read on any computer platform - MAC, PC, or Linux. Acrobat Reader is a free program needed to read a PDF file. PDF files may be created from PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and Excel files.
What are do PDF and Primo PDF? Both programs are free software that may be downloaded from the Internet. Both require installation of software on the local computer. These programs are only PDF creators, not editors. Both install a virtual printer on the computer. PDF files may not be altered without an PDF editing program.
Where to download the programs Do PDF from Available in 20 languages Creates a larger file size but works well with large documents. Primo PDF from Creates a smaller file size. If you are working with WordPress, use this one. If you have Office 2007, select File Save As and use PDF and this provides the smallest file size. One of these programs should already on your classroom computer.
How do these programs work? Both programs create a virtual printer on the local computer. After installing the program on the computer, create the document and save the file. Select PRINT from the menu file, then select doPDF or PrimoPDF from the printer list, and then ok. The PDF document will be created.
