TRANSFORMATION ZONE How Do we know the transformation is working?

Some Highlights O At this time last year there had been 91 arrests at Fair Park and Woodlawn High Schools. This year there have been 7.

Highlights O At this time last year we were using 100 additional spots at Ombudsman for Expulsion. Most of the decrease can be attributed to the Transformation Zone

Highlights O Last year, Fair Park only had 6 students score a “Good” on the EOC exam in Algebra. This year there are 70 students enrolled in enriched Algebra classes

Highlights O Attendance is up at every school in the zone, as high as 96-99% in the elementary schools. O Discipline referrals and out of school suspensions are down. “These campuses are schools again.” Clay Walker, Juveline Justice

Highlights O Midway- ZERO discipline referrals all year! O Atkins Elementary – Discipline referrals down 50% O Mooretown Elementary- 2 suspensions all year! O Westwood- Referrals down over 70 percent in the last two years, with a current 1.7 percent suspension rate O CMCT- Discipline Referrals down 40 % O Lakeshore- 6.6 % OSS rate (Goal is 15%)
