4 What is Aid Management Platform (AMP) Background: Supports the global aid effectiveness agenda AMP is a web-based tool that improves governments’ ability to: Manage aid projects; Evaluate impact; Harmonize aid activities with national planning objectives; Create reports; Coordinate events with donors; and Manage documents electronically. Reduces transaction costs Enables better analysis and decision-making Enhances coordination with donors/partners Maximizes the impact of development activities

7 July 2007- Technical Assessment in mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar Aug. - Oct. 2007- Technical customization of the platform (proof of concept) Nov. 2007- Participation in an aid management workshop hosted by Ethiopia Dec. 2007- Signing of AMP project document, committing to implementation Jan. - Feb. 2008 - Pilot installation and testing on Ministry of Finance site Feb. 2008- Implementation Step 1 completed: AMP fully operational and hosted by the government Training of MOF Users including Zanzibar ICT Technical Administrators trained Base data entry begun Mar. 2008- Additional user training; 2 data entry workshops July 2008- 30 Gov. users certified, 550 activities est. US$12 billion donor comm. Oct. 2008- AMP Tanzania upgraded to the latest release (v1.12d) Nov 2008- Over 40 development partner staff, representing 28 agencies trained Dec. 2008- AMP Africa Regional Knowledge Sharing Workshop in Nairobi Feb. 2009- Development Gateway data validation mission. T.A. to desk officers regarding data profiles, management process and reporting. Donor consultation - profiles Government and Donor training Implementation Timeline

8 Way Forward Formal/further clarification of the roles of DPs and Government Clear process mapping and timetable of inputs and outputs from AMP Defined process on how to maintain AMP data Routine usage of standardised reports Increase data analytics capacity Preparations for official launch in March/April Validate projects and give users access to the national workspace Line ministry inclusion Upgrade to new version and introduction of new features (v 1.13)
