2. Lithuanian Forum for the Disabled (LNF) Established 2001 08 27 14 full members, over 280 000 disabled people of Lithuania Governing bodies:  General Assembly  Board  President Member of European Disability Forum from 2003)

3. LNF mission and aim Mission:  To promote human, social, political, economical rights for people with disabilities Aim:  Improve the rights of Lithuanian people;  Represent them in various Lithuanian institutions

4. LNF members, structure and organisation 14 national unbrella organizations representing people with disabilities in various kind of disability (wheelchair usres, blindness, deafness, intellectual, mental impairments, etc.) Highest body – annual General Assembly; Board of 9 members (president, board members, revisor), ellections every 4 years; President, ellections every 4 years;

5. LNF work direction Promotion of advantages in the policy of government and local levels, as well as influencing process of adopting positively set legislation for people with disabilities. To promote policy, which protects rights of the people with disabilities; To cooperate with different agencies on national and local level;

6. LNF work direction To provide systematic monitoring of legislative proposals concerning people with disabilities; To promote participation in the decision making process on all levels to protect interests of participating organisations; To participate within its competence in drafting laws and other normative acts and provides opinion on them.

7. Activities of LNF Representatives of LNF are included in the various working groups of Lithuanian Ministries to develop new or improve the existing legislation which will be based on principles of non discrimination and equal rights; We are working in 6 working groups now. Special attention: independent living, deinstitucionalization, transport, legal capacity

8. Activities of LNF Main ativities: Implementation The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Educational policy; Services for disabled; Employment policy; Strengthening the position of organizations of disabled

9. Activities of LNF Other ativities: Awareness raising of the Society to the problems of people with special needs. Publishing useful information about disability issue. Organising training, seminars, discussions, etc.

10. LNF in education 2008 – 2010 Participation in the working group on education issues preparing for ratification of the Convention 2010 – 2011 Participation in the working groups on the Ministerial order „Learning in formal education programs (excluding higher education study programs)forms and procedure for training organisation“ preparation; 2012 participation in Vocational education studies' program for people with disabilities preparation

11. LNF in education 2012 – Participating in European Disability Forum campaing for inclusive secondary and vocational education. 2013 – Leonardo da Vinci Partnership project „Recommendations for Inclusive Vocational and Higher Education for Persons with Disabilities“

12. Furtcoming events 2013 10 01 Round table – discussion with the representatives of Disability Affairs Department under the Ministry of Social issues and Labour, Ministry Education and Science and DPO; 2013 10 15 conference in Lithuanian Parliament „Education for childrend and youngsters with disabilities“
