We will replace more traditional drills with this new approach which will emphasize skill learning while having fun in a unique manner. 2) No Player Left Behind: Continue to offer a reduced registration fee for our FUNdaments program and offer a new reduction in fees for our Novice (7-8 years) program. The ultimate goal is to increase enrollment and retention of players. This progressive move will create opportunities that would otherwise not exist for girls to explore the game of hockey.

Part I Constitutional Amendments John Middleton (all passed at meeting)

Amend Constitution: PART I Article Five: EXECUTIVE (pg. 6) 1) Reads: The elected officers of the Association shall be: Change to: The elected EXECUTIVE MEMBERS of the Association shall be: Rationale: consistency in terminology

1)m) Reads: Referee-in-Chief DELETE o) Reads: League Administrator DELETE Rationale: these positions are paid positions and do not have a vote. They are critical positions and as such, the executive would like to advertise the positions on our website and hold interviews for each to select the best candidates.

Also in Article Five 1) First sentence Reads: The members of the executive will be voted in for a term of one year at the AGM Change to: The members of the executive will be voted in for a term of TWO YEARS at the AGM Rationale: Positions on the executive can be quite complex. It is felt that it is in the best interest of the association to allow the same group of executive members to continue for a term of two years to ensure goals are being met IF VOTED THROUGH: change paragraph 6 to read: The executive can be re-elected at the AGM for a subsequent term of TWO YEARS.

Also in Article Five 1) Last paragraph reads: In the event that the number of elected Executives is less than the number of positions, a member of the Executive can hold more than one of the Executive positions, without an additional vote. Add: THIS CAN ONLY OCCUR AFTER THERE HAS BEEN AN UNSUCCESSFUL THOROUGH SEARCH FOR A REPLACEMENT MEMBER. Rationale: It is best practice for each executive member to only hold one position and effort should be put into finding someone to fill the vacancy.

Article Six: AUTHORITY OF THE EXECUTIVE (pg. 7) *only if approved in earlier vote #2 Add 4) to read: The Executive shall have the authority to appoint the positions of Referee-in-Chief and League Administrator Rationale: these positions are paid positions and do not have a vote. They are critical positions and as such, the executive would like to advertise the positions on our website and hold interviews for each to select the best candidates.

Article Seven: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (pg. 8) 1) Reads: The Annual General Meeting of the membership shall be held at least once a year, no later than March 31st. Change to: No later than MAY 31 st Rationale: We are having our AGM prior to the end of the season and much earlier than other associations. It is felt it makes sense to hold the AGM around the same time as our fiscal year end which is May 31st. Also, this makes for an easier transition for new executive members.

Article Eight: BYLAWS (pg. 8) 3) Reads: Any changes to the Bylaws by the Executive, which fail to receive ratification, may not be reintroduced and any Bylaw changes made at an AGM may not be modified by the Executive, in both cases for a period of two years. Change to: Any changes to the Bylaws by the Executive, which fail to receive ratification, may be reworded at the same AGM to receive consensus vote. Rationale: The membership may like and understand that purpose of the amendment however, wish that the wording be changed to more effectively reflect the purpose for such amendment.

Article Nine: REGULATIONS AND RULES (pg. 8) 3) Reads: Any changes to the Regulations and Rules by the Executive which fail to receive ratification may not be reintroduced and any Regulation or Rule changes made at an AGM may not be modified by the Executive, in both cases, for a period of two years. Change to: Any changes to the Regulations and Rules by the Executive which fail to receive ratification vote may be reworded at the same AGM to receive consensus vote. Rationale: The membership may like and understand that purpose of the amendment however, wish that the wording be changed to more effectively reflect the purpose for such amendment.

Article Eleven: CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS (pg. 9) 3) Reads: Approval of Amendments to Constitution: All amendments to this Constitution must be approved by at least a three quarter majority vote (i.e.: at least 75% of those eligible votes cast must be in favour) at an AGM. This Constitution may be amended at an AGM by a two-thirds majority of all votes cast, provided that notice of proposed amendments is announced at any time during the preceding AGM. Change to: All amendments to this Constitution must be approved by at least a three quarter majority vote (i.e. at least 75% of those eligible votes cast must be in favour) at an AGM. Rationale: Removing the second piece about the two thirds majority vote if notice of proposed amendments is announced at any time during the preceding AGM.

Part II Amendments to Bylaws Barb Mason (all passed at meeting)

Article One: The Executive (pg. 10) 2) Reads: Members of the Executive shall be elected by secret ballot at the AGM of the Association. Add: MEMBERS MAY ACCEPT ONLY ONE ELECTED POSITION Rationale: It is best practice that executive members only hold one position. Priority must be given to finding an executive member for each position. An executive member should only hold two positions after a thorough search for such member has taken place. I.e.: advertise on website etc.

4)Reads: Any member of the Executive, Officials, or Referees can be associated with an OGHA team in any capacity. Change to: Any member of the Executive or Referees…..{remove OFFICIALS) Rationale: Housekeeping. We do not use the term “officials” consistently throughout the document.
