Väinölä, BE-RF-PM Marie Curie Linking Industry to CERN MeChanICs 2010-2014 The aim of the MeChanICs project is to enhance knowledge exchange in the filed of precision manufacturing. The project gathers five specialised precision manufacturer companies of excellence, of which one is an SME, to enhance their existing research and technology development (RTD) efforts with the University of Helsinki (UH) and CERN. The mechanisms used for the transfer of knowledge within MeChanICs are two-way intersectional secondments and dissemination workshops. Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways - IAPP

4 Activity description MeChanICs-project administration: – Providing background material about the project and CLIC – Making status reports etc. documentation – Assisting in the financial, scientific and administrative EU reporting of the project – Preparing and assisting the seconded researchers – Keeping contact with the partners relating administrative and reporting matters – Coordination of the procurement of the tooling for the CLIC RF structure assembly – Follow-up of CLIC accelerating structure (AS) qualification disk production in Finland 16 Feb 20124J. 5 Current & near future activities Activating and support Finnish industry to manufacture RF components – Project preparation in progress – Consortium: Finnish manufacturing companies and research organizations (HIP, VTT, MIKES, NKUAS…) – National project with strong international link – Funding will be applied from Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation – Objectives: Improve the ultra high precision manufacturing knowledge, skills and capacity in Finland considering CLIC’s current and future needs Financial reporting guide for MeChanICs-project partners 16 Feb 20125J.
