Galatians Teaches Freedom Galatians 4:21-5:1

2 Peter 3:15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.

Galatians 5:1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 6:11 See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.

FREEDOM FROM FLESH

FREEDOM FROM FLESH Galatians 4:23 But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise.

FREEDOM FROM FLESH Romans 5:18a one trespass led to condemnation for all men, … 19a For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners,

FREEDOM FROM FLESH Galatians 4:21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?

FREEDOM FROM FLESH “The religion of Ishmael is a religion of nature, of what man can do by himself without any special intervention of God.” John Stott

FREEDOM FROM FLESH

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH “But the religion of Isaac is a religion of grace, of what God has done and does, a religion of divine initiative and divine intervention, for Isaac was born supernaturally through a divine promise.” John Stott

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH Galatians 4:23 But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise.

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH Galatians 4:26 But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH Galatians 4:27 For it is written, “Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear; break forth and cry aloud, you who are not in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than those of the one who has a husband.”

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH Freedom in Christ is living with the expectation that we will experience God doing more in and through us than we could ever do on our own.

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH Galatians 4:8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods.

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH Galatians 2:4 Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in—who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery

FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH Galatians 5:1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
