Eph 6:13; Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph 6:14; Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness

Eph 6:13; Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph 6:14; Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness

“Righteousness” Moral uprightness; doing and being what God considers to be right Many teachings suppose the breastplate of righteousness to be made or our own moral uprightness and good works

Isaiah 64:6; But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. Romans 3:10; As it is written: “There is none righteous, no not one…”

“2 Sides to Righteousness” What God does FOR us… What God does IN us…

What God does For us Righteousness is not something we earn, it is something we receive. Philippians 3:9; and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith

Romans 3: ; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3: ; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Justification “Just-as-if” …I never sinned To declare “not guilty”; to return an offender to a state of innocence

Romans 3: ; whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness…

Romans 3: ; whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness… 26; to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

In Christ, you are GUILT FREE! Isaiah 53:5-6; But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities… And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

In Christ, you are GUILT FREE! 2Co 5:19 & 21; that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them… 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

To “impute” or “imputation” To attribute to a person something he does not have; to reckon or credit to one’s account The “Divine Transfer” – He took our sins and we received His righteousness Philippians 3:9

Justification by Faith Galatians 2:16; knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Justification by Faith Romans 5:1; Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…

Justification by Faith Romans 5:7-9; Scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

Justification by Faith Romans 8:1-4; There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Justification by Faith Romans 8:1-4; …3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

The Breastplate of Righteousness Is not something I make out of my own good works and moral standards, It is the righteousness I receive from Christ and the power to walk free from condemnation!

The Breastplate of Righteousness Colossians 1:21-22; And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.

Our salvation is secure in Christ 1 John 2:1-2; My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Our salvation is secure in Christ As long as our hearts are fixed on Christ 1 John 2:3-4; Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
