2 International Academic Program  implemented within the resources of several universities located in different countries  contains cross-cultural and intercultural components  aimed at improving and complementing the whole process of training, improving the quality and the competitive advantages of a specialist in the labor market by a wide range of additional services  includes provisions for the recognition of prior education, harmonizing curricular in different countries and accreditation of final degree certificates

4 Dual degree program  Runs parallel in partner universities in the language of study and/or foreign language intermediary (English)  provides the same structure and content of training modules, common methods and learning technologies, common procedures for intermediate and final testing  is comparable to the invariant part, but different specializations or profiles provided by each partner

5 Advancing Theory and Knowledge in Public Health Sciences on Global Health Issues The University of Massachusetts, Amherst (UMA) Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University (NovSU) Project co-directors: Prof. Viktor Veber & Prof. David Buchanan

6 Project objectives  finalize plans for a new Specialization in Public Health at NovSU  develop at least six new or revised Public Health courses at each university  initiate a collaborative Summer Institute on Epidemiology, Prevention and Public Health at NovSU  facilitate student and faculty exchanges between UMA and NovSU  complete a feasibility study on establishing a dual NovSU/UMA graduate degree program in Public Health that includes the use of long-distance and blended learning technologies  publish a multi-author text book in Russian on Public Health
