1. English III AP Argumentative Research Paper

2. All students at Carl Wunsche Sr., High School are required to complete one of three ‘Stones’ projects. Juniors will complete the Stepping Stone Grades will apply in English III AP Grades may apply in your CTE course, at your teacher’s discretion.

3. Paper, Project, Presentation Writing a research paper on a challenging aspect of the major of study, reflecting basic writing as well as information literacy skills and using multiple sources, including at least one interview with the student’s CTE teacher. Designing and producing a related, rigorous, student-generated project or product to be incorporated in the final presentation. Preparing an oral presentation for an audience consisting of teachers and two or more combined classes of peers.

4. Write a research paper on a challenging aspect of your major of study. Topics may include: an emerging trend, a controversial issue, or innovations in your career field. When you have gathered all of your research, compose a research paper arguing that the topic you have chosen will positively impact your career field or that it is a worthwhile pursuit. When choosing your topic, remember that you must also create a project or product as part of your final presentation.

5. Rubric on p. 11 1 inch margins 12 point font (print) size with font chosen from one of the following: Times New Roman Arial Tahoma Page numbers in a consistent location according to MLA format. Double-spaced throughout the outline, text, and works cited page. Proficient level of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage. In-text and/or parenthetical documentation Title page and a works cited page according to MLA format. Three to four (3-4) pages in length, not including the title page, and works cited page.

6. Minimum of four (4) sources, including one personal interview. Paper must be turned in as part of a research folder to include: Research paper Works Cited Research Articles (2 journals; 1 website) printed out, with any referenced or quoted text highlighted MLA citation at top of the first page of the article

7. One of your sources must be an interview of an industry professional. If you know someone outside of school, feel free to interview them. Otherwise: interview your CTE teacher. Questions must be turned in and approved by your English teacher. 8. You will present your project and your research in a 6-8 minute presentation Audience will consist of members of your class and other English III or CTE students Dress professionally Use your E-portfolio!
