Click GraphClick Plot Double click at C2 under Y and C1 under X in Graph Variable Window. Click OK Click on the pointer beside Display and select Project Chart 6-2: Minitab Probability Distribution

Select CALC Select Probability Distributions and Binomial Select Probability option Enter 6 in the number of trials box for the value of n In the probability of success box, enter 0.15 for the value of p Select Input column and enter x into the Input column box Click OK Chart 6-3: Minitab Binomial Probability Distribution

Enter X in Cell A1 and Probability in B1 Enter the values of the Binomial random variable X (0 through 6 in this case) starting in Cell A2 Click f x (Paste function) from the Excel toolbar Select Statistical from the function category menu Select BINOMDIST from the Function name Click OK Enter Cell locations containing possible values of X in the Number_s box Enter value of n in the Trial box (6 in our case) Enter value of p in the Probability_s box (0.15 in our case) Enter 0 in the Cumulative box to obtain probabilities (1 if you desire cumulative probabilities) Click OK The first probability value appears in cell B2. Double click left button of the mouse at the right corner of the cell B2. Values of the rest of probabilities appear. Chart 6-4: Excel Binomial Probability Distribution

Poisson Distribution in Excel Input data in column A Enter Probability in Cell B1. Click in Cell B2 Click the Paste Function f x on the toolbar. Select Statistical from Function Category Select Poisson from Function Name Click OK Enter Cell locations containing possible values of X in the X box Enter the value of the mean in the Mean box (10.35 in our case) Enter 0 in the Cumulative box (1 if you desire cumulative probabilities) Click OK Enter Cell locations A2 to A11 in Cell B2 Click on Cell B2 and select Format: Cells Click on the Number tab and select Number under Category Enter 4 as the number of Decimal places Click OK The first probability value appears in cell B2. Double click left button of the mouse at the right corner of the cell B2. Values of the rest of probabilities appear.
