1 1.PROCESS AND PRODUCT ORIENTATION This is the preconception stage when students are asked to experience the World from another perspective.Students are asked to answer the warm-up questions; Have you ever been to a foreign county?Where?When? And then students are shown the pictures of some countries and cities.After that they are asked; Which countries/cities would you like to visit?Why? Students are asked to responde to questions emotionally.

2 WARM-UP QUESTIONS Have you ever been to a foreign country? When?Where? Which countries /cities would you like to visit?Why? Do you know any famous people from those countries?Who are they?

5 2.LANGUAGE ACQUISITION AND USE IN A CREATIVE CONTEXT I In this stage students are given some specific information about famous Irish people to fill in the blanks with relative pronouns.After reading out the specific information they are supposed to match the pictures with the information given. S Students are given a sheet of paper with full of errors and they are supposed to correct them and check them with their partners.

7 James Joyce James Joyce is the writer…………scrambled up the old formulas and set a table for the 20th century. Ulysses is the most important novel…....…….was written in 1939.The story of Ulysses takes place in Dublin…………..…..Joyce was born.Finnegan’s Wake is another important book ……………..…..was written by Joyce.

10 U2 U2 are the Irish rock band……………….are very politically active in human rights causes.U2 have been one of the most popular rock bands in the World since 1980s.The lead singer of the band is Bono……………….was born in1960 in Dublin.

11 HURLING Hurling is a traditional Irish game …………………….resembles hockey.It is played by two teams of 15 players each.It is played with sticks and a ball.It is considered to be one of the fastest team sport.

12 CORRECT THE ERRORS Cork,which is the capital of Ireland,is located in the South of Ireland. English and Scottish are two official languages which are spoken in Ireland. Ireland has an increasing population which is more than 40 million. Ireland has a hot climate which sometimes reaches 40 C Irish Lira is the currency which is used since 2002 More than 90% of people are Protestant. Bravehearth is a well known film which is about Ireland’s Independence. Michael Colins is the presedent of Ireland. Cranberries,Madonna and U2 are famous Irish bands.

13 3.CREATIVE ORAL/WRITTEN PRESENTATION tudents are given ‘You’ poetry which they are supposed to fill in with relative clauses.They try to complete the ‘You’ poetry as creatively as possible.As it is an open ended task it is very suitable for mixed ability groups.Motivating the students to use creative language is very important.

14 YOU POETRY Think of an actor,country,day,singer,star,fruit,man,city.Then complete the poem as appropriate by using relative clause. 15 4.VISUALIZATION OF RESULT Students are supposed to use computers to make their poems as visually sitimulating as possible by inserting pictures or word art. In groups students are supposed to join their ‘You’ poetry and try to write the best one.

16 5.PERFORMANCE In this stage each group is supposed to read their ‘You’ poetry aloud. The members of the groups are supposed to act out what is written.
