12. I like my house, but my Mum and Dad don’t like it that much.

13. I was at home preparing for my driving test, when my dad came home early from work.

14. Soon after I left..

15. I though it was odd that he arrived home early, But I didn’t think it mattered.

16. So I went to see my driving instructor. The instructor is an old man with a bushy red beard, named Ted Swa-or-ranger-ga.

17. “Good afternoon, I am your driver instructor, he explained, You can call me Ted.” “Hello my name is Alice,” I replied in a nervous voice.

18. We both climbed into the red station wagon. I turned the key to start the ignition.

19. We drove for a long time……………………… peacefully.

20. We drove all day and through the night until…………… I start to feel nervous because we are driving for such a long time.

21. The officer said in a gruff voice that hardly seemed human. “Get out of the car…

22. “….Alice”

23. I obeyed his command,

24. Unlike Ted who ran away….

25. SCREAMING!

26. It was just me………..against this guy.

27. I hopped out of the car to talk to him.

28. He lunged for me, but I wasn’t quick enough to avoid capture.

29. He pushes me into a police car,

30. And we drove off, into the night.

31. Half an hour later, I was here, in this dark and gloomy cell.

32. A police officer walks up to me. A Shiver goes down my spine. He talks to me about my Dad’s work.

33. And how he caused another oil spill.

34. I start to remember my parents

35. And I start to complain about how they never tell me anything except for “It’s time for your driving test sweetie.”

36. The police officer starts asking questions like, ‘Does your Dad have any criminal record?’ and other questions related to the subject of my Dad.

37. I answer most questions as a ‘no,’ because I am completely confused.

38. When he has finished asking me questions, he notifies me about how my Dad has all ready been told about my capture.

39. He goes quiet.

40. A few minutes of utter silence he yells, “Now, get in your cell.”

41. In my cell it’s cold, I’m scared.

42. I start to feel tired, so I check the time on my player. 12.00pm

43. I walk over to the pile of straw that is meant to be my bed. And fall asleep.

45. I wake up to a hard poke in the flesh on my lower back. I sit up and see my Dad!

46. He whispers so quietly that I need to walk over to him, to here what he’s saying.

47. “Come on, it’s time to get out of here. I’ve bribed the guards and the police officer is in his office.”

48. He opens the cell door ready for me to walk out. I walk out.

49. I check my player, It’s 3.38am.

50. We find our way around the dark cells to find an exit.

51. We run at a quick pace, passing a few people snoring, or sitting in their straw. I feel sorry for them.

52. Before long, we could see the exit up ahead, so we run even faster.

53. We run out of the prison, And into the cold of the night.

54. When we get home, everything is packed into small cardboard boxes. Except for an occasional bigger box.

55. We pack boxes into the car as quickly and as quietly as we can.

56. After what feels like forever we jump into our Jeep. I ask Mum and Dad to explain what is happening and they do.

57. They say, “We have too many people on to us, so we need to get away from Greenland, and start to live somewhere else that’s close.

58. I check the time on my player, 4.30am.

59. I think, it’s taken us an hour to get ready, and another hour to get this far!

60. We speed to the nearest dock to avoid followers.

61. Every speed camera we go past flashes as it catches our number plate.

62. We reach the docks and park the car.

63. We search for someone willing to take us to a country that is close. We find an old fisherman.

64. The fisherman let’s us buy the boat. We pay him a handful of money.

65. He also recommends to go to Canada since it is one of the closest countries.

66. While we are on the boat, I ask Dad why I was kidnapped, He breaths heavily before talking.

67. He answers as, “Remember what happened in Russia…. They found us again.”

68. I check my player, it’s 6.00am, the sun is starting to rise.

69. We’re safe… Well for now.
