7 District Citation Requirements

8 1. Membership Development Goals Net membership growth as discussed and agreed between the respective Club President and the District Governor. (M) - SURANGA Conduct on a quarterly basis ie. Jul/Sept, Oct/Dec & Jan/Mar., at least 3 Rotary family programs (M) - YOHAN Over 50% of the members achieve “Effective Rotarian Recognitions” (M) - AJITH Increase women members in club to 10% of club membership (O) Actively be involved in organizing a Theme titled seminar to promote Membership (O) - WARREN

9 2. Service Projects Undertake a minimum of three projects in any of the following focus areas. (M) – (1) Peace & conflict prevention / resolution – GEN. SUSIL – (2) Disease prevention & treatment – (3) Water & sanitation - MARCEL – (4) Maternal & child health - MAHEN – (5) Basic Education & Literacy – (6) Economic & community development - SHAKILA Participate in the R4D (Rotary For Diabetes) programme of the District. This will not be considered as one of the projects under a. above. (M) - TREVOR Sponsor at least one Interact or Rotaract club (For Clubs who do not already Sponsor an interact or Rotaract Club/s) Other Clubs who are already Sponsoring Interact/Rotaract clubs should furnish a certificate from DIR/DRR to confirm that the said clubs are active in service (O) Recognize Vocational Service Excellence in your Community (O) - LASANTHA Participate in an International Youth/Family Exchange program (O) Sponsor a RCC (O)

10 3.The Rotary Foundation Achieve the contribution to The Rotary Foundation Goal (APF) as discussed and agreed between the respective club President and the District Governor (M) - GEHAN Successfully plan and complete a Matching Grant project as an individual club or as the group (M) – GEHAN/BIMBA/RAMAIN Contribute a minimum of USD 200 to the Polio Fund (O) Nominate a candidate or a leader for GSE or host the inbound GSE team. (O) - RAMAIN

Club Administration Plan and adopt the RI Strategic Plan and Long Range Goals for minimum of 3 years (M) - LASANTHA Conduct at least one intercity meeting with all the clubs in the group (M) - AJITH Minimum of 3 members for clubs with under 30 members, & 5 members for clubs with over 31 members of the club to register and participate at all District Seminars. (M) - AJITH Attain an average monthly attendance of 50% by 31st March 2013.(M) - BIMBA President Elect and Secretary Elect to register with RI/Member Access on or before 31st December, 2012. (M) – GEN. SUSIL Full representation of the Board at the District Assembly to be held in May 2012, duly certified by the District Secretary. (M) - AJITH Registration of 50% of membership at the District Conference to be held in February 2013 to be as follows(M) - AJITH Review and adopt Club by Laws by 15th December, 2012. (O) Provide financial assistance to the President Elect to meet the cost of PETS if necessary. (O) Appoint a member to maintain club archives (O) - RAVI

Public Relations Undertake at least one activity to enhance the public image of Rotary or your Rotary club in your community (M) - RANJAN Send your Monthly PR report to DC-PR and GML Editor (M) - DEEPIKA Host and maintain a club website (O) - AJITH Publish at least a quarterly News Letter (Print) (O)

13 Effective Rotarian Recognition – 2012/13 To receive the District Citation, each club of our district will have to ensure that over 80% of their active membership (For clubs with a membership of 30 or less) or 60% (for clubs with a membership of 31 or more) achieved the “Effective Rotarian Recognition” by fulfilling the following 4 mandatory and 1 of the optional requirement before 31st March, 2013 Mandatory Goals a.Record a minimum of 50% attendance at club meetings (M) - BIMBA b. Contribute a minimum of USD 10 to the Annual Program Fund (M) - GEHAN c. Actively participate in at least 2 humanitarian services projects conducted by the club.(M) - YOHAN d. Register for the District Conference (M) - AJITH Optional Goals (ONE ONLY) a.Introduce one new member (O) c. Register for RI Convention (O) d. Provide home stay for a GSE team member (O) e. Attend a Home club intercity meeting or a regular meeting of another club (O) - RAVI
