Пояснительная записка к презентации “Welcome to London” Презентация по английскому языку “Welcome to London” создана с целью знакомства учащихся 5 класса (4 год обучения иностранному языку) с основными достопримечательностями столицы Соединенного Королевства Лондона. Данная презентация позволит представить новый для детей страноведческий материал в более интересной и наглядной форме. Использование презентации является средством лучшего усвоения языкового и речевого материала. В качестве источника получения информации презентация создает необходимые условия для стимулирования интереса к изучаемому языку, который можно удовлетворить самостоятельно, поскольку не требуется ни собеседник, ни слушатель. Использование презентации способствует реализации коммуникативной цели обучения, т.к позволяет формировать социокультурные знания, умение читать и понимать прочитанное, позволяет воспитывать положительное отношение к культуре другого народа, развивать механизм языковой догадки.

4. London sightseeing tour Hello, ladies and gentlemen! We welcome you to London. It is one of the largest cities in the world. More than nine million people live and work there. London is more than two thousand years old. It is a centre for business and for tourism.There are a lot of famous sights in London. Look at the map of London.

6. Trafalgar Square We start from Trafalgar Square. It is in the centre of London. On the column in the centre there is a statue of Admiral Nelson who defeated the French at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Four bronze lions look at the square from the monument. One of them you can see here.

7. Piccadilly Circus Now we are coming to Piccadilly Circus. It is the meeting point of six streets. Byron lived at No.139. Piccadilly Circus is the centre of London’s theatres, gay with advertisement and lights.
