2 PDCA Concept PDCA (Plan-do-check-act or Plan-do-check-adjust): It is a 4-step management method used for control and continuous improvement of processes and products. Popularized by Dr. W. Edwards Deming who referred to this process as the “Shewart cycle.” Later in his career modified PDCA to PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) Originally based on the scientific method where it uses “hypothesis-experiment-evaluation” in other words “plan, do, and check” The fundamental process is repetition. Repeating the PDCA can bring us closer to the goal. In Six Sigma, the PDCA cycle is called the DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control)
