General Activity Instructions Main Activity: is to help students engage themselves in the learning activities process using the 21 st century skills, and to help them to become more active in this process. Also, it helps the teacher to use the learner-based approach. Activity Procedures: Collecting Information: Students look at the pictures, and try to connect it with their knowledge. Students try to guess what this unit is about. Students try to give a suggested title for the pictures in the unit. Students express their feelings playing football and scoring a goal. General Activity Instructions Organizing Information: * The Groups are players in the class and they select their roles using the new vocabulary of the given lesson. * Groups categorize the suitable vocabulary with their roles in acting as players. * Groups use the computer/ papers to organize their data and pictures/videos Analyzing Information: Groups illustrate the characteristics of their roles. Groups try to connect their roles from the lesson to their real family/ community roles. Groups use internet and computer/ posters to finalize their products to show them the next meeting. Producing and Using Information: Groups present the characteristics of each role into the class as actors/ PowerPoint/ posters/ wall-board/ pictures with captions, and vote for the best player or commentator. Individuals in groups express their feelings about their parts in doing their roles, and share it with their peers. Students try to share their information outside the class/ school. 7. Activity: “Goal” ICT environment: “Wordle” Words clouding ICT environment: “Wordle” Words clouding The students specify and explore the issue they will work on “ World Cup, Football. The teacher asks for the students teams to recall their personal knowledge. Each students team create a cloud with words that characterize their previous knowledge about the lesson. The coordinator of every team write the words in the “Wordle” environment or in a piece of paper. 8. Activity: “ World Cup” ICT environment: Youtube Students can watch some clips on football and world cup on youtube. The aim of this activity is to inform students about the use of the vocabulary in the game, and how commentators comment. Students can separate in teams and analyze in “English” the video-clips. They can discuss about them and share common experience. Afterword they have to illustrate them and then try to imitate and act as commentators in front of the other teams. 9. Reflection- Evaluation Teachers Reflection on students knowledge 21 st c skills Conclusions: Groups debate about the importance of football and sports in our lives with reasons. Groups write short paragraphs about their favorite players. Students make their own wall-board. Students can share their information outside the class. Propositions: The teacher should reinforce the use of ICT tools in the class, encourage the students on their tasks whether good or not, arrange a deadline for the products, and the teacher could videotape the students’ products. Reconstructions on students thoughts: Students showed a well reflection on the activities by noticing an improvement in their critical thinking, active participation, innovation in their works, their love to the subject, and using the ICT tools. 10. Reflection- Evaluation Students Reflection on teaching/learning Process Student reactions and actions during an activities: They showed their happiness in participating. They worked together in the class and outside, presented their show without fear, and they posted their works on the walls of the class. Consideration of spontaneous verbal reactions of students and discussions among students: Students expressed their excitement and willingness in participation in more activities.
