11 MTA Goals SA Goal #1: Student Achievement will increase by 1% across the state of South Dakota based upon the Dakota STEP test from the spring of 2008 to the spring of 2009 as noted in the following performance categories: Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, and Advanced. 12 MTA Goals SA Goal #2: Based on the Dakota STEP data, there will be a decrease in the number of schools in School Improvement. 7 schools participating in the Master Teacher Academy were identified for School Improvement in Aug. 2008 30 schools from the districts participating in the Master Teacher Academy were identified for School Improvement in Aug. 2008.

13 MTA Goals PD Goal #1: 50% of the Master Teacher Academy participating teachers will increase their Level of Technology Integration by one stage as measured by a team designed technology questionnaire. TBD – 6/19/09 PD Goal #1, Objective #1: 100% of grant participants will attend the 5-day Master Teacher Academy TBD – 6/19/09 PD Goal #1, Objective #2: 100% of Master Teacher Academy grant participants will create two criterion based lesson plans that will incorporate 21st century skills or tools. TBD – 6/19/09

14 MTA Goals Additional Goal#1: Create an awareness of 21st century skills by teachers and administrators in each ESA region. Additional Objective #1: 355 administrators (50% - 106 of 211 superintendents and 249 of 497 principals) will have an awareness of 21st century skills as determined by a pre- and post survey administered at every 21st Century Skills Awareness presentation. 96 of 355 Additional Objective #2: 1,125 teachers (1/8 – 788 of 6,300 elementary and 338 of 2,700 secondary teachers) will have an awareness of 21st century skills as determined by a pre- and post survey administered at every 21st Century Skills Awareness presentation. 523 of 1,125

15 MTA Goals Additional Goal #2: Develop a comprehensive curriculum for a 21st Century Skills Academy by May 2009. Complete Objective#1a A minimum of 4 collaborative meetings of the 21st Century Advisory Board will occur by June 2009. 4 meetings Objective #1b A minimum of 4 collaborative meetings of the MTA Leadership Team by June 2009. 8 meetings Objective#2: 35 instructors will be chosen to become 21st Century Master Teachers by May 2009. Selected March 24, 2009 – Notified March 30, 2009 Objective#3: A minimum of one planning visit/email will occur with administrators of participants prior to MTA 2009. May 15, 2009
