Design a creative, career appropriate title page. I used a bulletin board to mimic a classroom display. I created (then cropped) the post it notes using and also used clip art and word art. Make sure to CITE any and all created or found visuals. I use a size 12 font. Welcome to My Class!

2 Introduction: Personal
Selected: Secondary English Teacher Inspired: My Mom  Loved: Reading Personal introduction including what I chose the career, what or who inspired me, and what I love about it. I used again to create the I Heart Books montage. Because I didn’t crop the image, the copyright appears in the corner of the screen.

Favorite Book This is final personal introduction slide. I am using on my favorite books and series as anecdotal evidence. The book cover is from amazon.com. Anne “with an E”became an English teacher.

4 Introduction: Research
Secondary English Certification Language Arts in Grades 7-12 Education: the action or process of teaching someone especially in a school, college, or university (from Merriam Webster Dictionary) This section represents the research paper’s introduction. I used both clip art and a logo on this slide. Notice that I provided an informal citation after the definition (website name). Clip art does not need to be cited. Logos also do not need to be cited if they also contain the source name.

5 Introduction: Duties & Responsibilities
Read Speak Grade Monitor Assess Grammar Research Literature Write This Smart Art illustrates the duties and responsibilities of a teacher. Smart Art can be created in PowerPoint and then imported into Google Slides.

6 History of Public Schools: Boston Latin School
This is the first body paragraph. I labeled with content but not the number (body paragraph 1). This is an example of a mixture of verbal and visual. Don’t forget to cite images.

7 History of Public Schools: Regulations
1965: Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) 1994: Improving America’s Schools Act 2002: No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) This is the second of three slides related to body paragraph 1. Each slide has a visual and verbal component.

9 Extension Idea: Video This is an example of a hyperlinked image or a hot link. Both the image and the video are from Pa Career Zone. Remember up to one minute of a video counts toward the total presentation time.

10 Technology in Traditional Classroom
Power School: Power School provides the full range of features needed by administrators at the district and school level in addition to portals for teachers, parents, and students (from Pearson School Systems). 13 million students 50 states 65+ countries. This is the beginning of another body paragraph (technology). This paragraph will have two slides: one verbal and one visual. I cited the quote from the Pearson School Systems website to note its origin.

11 Commonly Used Features
This is the second of two slides about technology in the traditional classroom. This is actually a cropped screenshot with clipart arrow additions. The website name is near the bottom of the slide.

12 Conclusion: Research Both of these images are screenshots (cropped) from PA Career Zone. One is the graduation summary; the other contains wages and job outlook. You can always create your own visuals to avoid having too many words on a slide.

14 Personal Conclusion: Future Plans
