9 Journal #22 Commentary Practice: Please 1) revise the citations and 2) add 2 sentences of commentary to analyze the quote and link it to the topic sentence/ thesis Thesis: Despite the side effect of encouraging conformity through propaganda-like tactics, advertisements are a necessary part of our society because they keep us informed, enable us to find products we really do need, and promote equal access to information.

10 Commentary Practice: Please 1) revise the citations and 2) add 2 sentences of commentary to analyze the quote and link it to the topic sentence/ thesis Topic Sentence: Not only that, but advertisements promote a freedom. According to a book called Advertising: Information or Manipulation, “companies fund most of what you read in magazines and books, what you hear on the radio, and what you watch on television” (D).
