You must pay tonight in cash or check only to pick them up now. It is very helpful to have your gym suit before the first day of school so you are ready for try- outs. Cash and check only! If you write a check (DL #, DOB and child's name MUST be printed on the check) We do laundry here so they should not bring their suits home until the end of the year. We do use soap!! They are provided with a locker with a lock – they need to use it. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items that are not locked in their locker. Please help them understand not to share this information with anyone to keep items secure.

ACADEMICS/BEHAVIOR As a member of our Wildcat athletic program, you are held to higher standards. Student- athletes will:  Not receive referrals or detentions.  Pass ALL classes. (Failing will cause the student to be ineligible to play-per UIL rules and regulations.)  Will work to do their best in all classes.  Act as ladies and gentlemen in class and act in a respectful manner to all teachers. ***Failing grades, low conduct marks, and referrals/d-halls will be addressed with extra conditioning and extra tutorials.

DRESS CODE  Practice Attire: You need to wear blue and greys (tucked in at all times), hair up and out of face, and athletic shoes. (NO jewelry can be worn. Hair should be a natural color. Please keep all items in your locker)  Game Attire: You will need to wear your issued uniform (jersey, shorts, and warm-up top) and athletic shoes. Any additional accessories must be in school colors and approved by coaches.

SPORTSMANSHIP & ATTITUDE  Treat your teammates and coaches like you want them to treat you- with respect, dignity, and tolerance.  The team comes ahead of any person on the team. Do your best to help your teammates play better.  We expect you to display good sportsmanship at all times.  Bring a positive attitude to every practice and game, regardless of whether the team is winning or losing games. We expect players and parents to provide unconditional enthusiasm throughout the season.  Do your best every time you walk on the court. Your teammates and coaches are counting on you.  It’s going to be great!!

ABSENCES When you play a team sport, you’re committed to attend every practice and game. When you’re absent you miss a chance to improve and help the team. If you miss a practice for any reason your playing time will be decreased and each missed practice MUST be made up before that weeks game. You must call or email Coach O’Hara-Huggins if you are going to miss practice for any reason. You may send an email to your coach or call (817)232- 0541 ext 5175 24 hours a day!

TRANSPORTATION Wayside will provide transportation to and from all athletic events. All players are expected to ride the bus to and from each game. It is important that we support each other as a program. Athletes will be able to work on homework at games in the stands. Athletes must remain in the stands or designated area during games when they are not playing.

ATHLETE/PARENT CONCERNS The policies that have been provided are important for a successful program. However, the key to a successful program comes from communication between the coaches and parents, the coaches and athletes, and the athletes and parents. We encourage the parents to share in their child’s athletic experience and help make it a positive and rewarding one. We do ask that you follow the proper chain of command if a situation arises that would require the need to speak to a coach. Any concerns or questions by an athlete or parent should be brought to the attention of the proper coach in the following order: 1. Have the athlete talk to the coach. Then #2 2. Talk with the coach/ athletic coordinator. THEN #3 3. Parent conference with the campus Athletic Coordinator and coach. THEN #4 4. Contact the High School Athletic Coordinator. THEN #5 5. Contact the Asst. Athletic Director. Lastly, contact the building principal. Those who choose to not follow the above procedure will be directed back by the administration to the level skipped. We know that conflict does arise and it often arises at a game/meet. Please refrain from confronting a coach at the conclusion of a game/meet. We ask that you observe the 24 hour rule. This will allow for all parties to reflect on the situation prior to meeting.

GAME DAY MEAL FORMS Once the teams have been made, we will send home Game Day Meal Forms. The meals usually cost around $6-$7/meal and there will be a meal provided before every game. Meals will be delivered directly to the school. All game day meals brought by parents need to be brought after 3:30 and brought to the back glass gym doors. Students will be allowed wait by gym doors from 3:30-3:45 for food and then will start getting game ready at 3:45.
