Internet Telephony is digital in nature where real-time voice communication occurs over a packet network using Internet Protocol. Internet Telephony represents a significant step towards the integration of voice and data in IP Network.

Internet in Bangladesh In mid 1993, Prodeshta Net started offline Internet E-mail service for the first time in Bangladesh 4 th June, 1996 Information Service Network (ISN) introduced online Internet service for the first time in Bangladesh Internet service Providers are dependent on VSAT and Government own satellite link with a channel capacity of 64/128 Kbps for their service ISPs are using Intel Pentium - II PC and SUN SPARK as server and Digital UNIX, SUN OS and SUN Solaris as their operating system

5. Statement of the Problem No unique standardization No defined architecture Need to find out the required link capacity Need to calculate the QoS of the network

6. Research Objectives To propose a basic Internet Telephony network based on the existing Internet architecture To investigate the QoS of the proposed network To illustrate the above objectives by performing a case study on Bangladesh
