2 Day 1 Congratulations, you have just been hired at a local grocery store. Your starting salary will be $7.25 per hour. On Monday of each week you will receive your paycheck based on the number of hours you worked the previous week. Today you will receive your checkbook register and you will begin with a balance of $25.00.

3 Day 2 Last night you went to the mall and bought a t-shirt for $7.25. When you spend money it goes in the debit column and is subtracted from your balance. Please update your checkbook register.

4 Day 3 It’s payday and you worked 12 hours last week. Remember that you earn $7.25 for each hour you work and paychecks are a credit so they go in the credit column of your check register and are added to your balance.

5 Day 4 You celebrate your first paycheck ever by treating your mom and dad to dinner at Subway. You each get a $5 foot-long sub and a drink for $1.49. Tax on the entire purchase is $1.65. Find the amount spent at Subway and record it as a debit and subtract it from your current balance.

6 Day 5 Last night you went to the Gastonia Grizzlies baseball game. The ticket costs $6.75 and you purchased a hot dog for $1.75 and a soda for $2.40. Use this information to update your checkbook.

7 Day 6 On Friday your class is doing an experiment and you need to purchase 2 packs of mentos and 3 2-liter bottles of Diet Coke. At Bi-lo packs of mentos are $1.29 each and 2-liter bottles of Diet Coke are $1.59 each. Use this information to update your Check Register.
