1 Shapes Everywhere! Kindergarten/ First Grade Web quest

2 You are a shape detective. Your job is to find shapes in theworld. You are going on a trip to find the shapes.

3 You will work with one of these groups. oval square triangle diamond rectangle circle

4 On your trip you will: ZFind out about your shape. ZMake a shape poem. ZGet pictures of your shape. ZMake a “Shape Book” with your group. By the end of your trip you will be a master detective!

5 ZEvery day sing “The Shape Song” with all the detectives. ZEvery day your client (teacher) will read, “The Shape of Me and Other Stuff” by Dr. Seuss. ZEvery day the shape detectives will have an assignment to work on to solve the case.

6 “The Shape Poem” Sing to tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” Terry triangle, look at me, Count my sides, there are three. triangle

7 Sammy square, That’s my name, I have four sides all the same. square

8 Robby Rectangle, I have four, Two long,Two short, but no more. rectangle

9 Cindy circle, Just one line, Make it round, that is fine. circle

10 Day One ZClick to hear “The Story of Shapes”.The Story of Shapes”. ZUse “Kid Pix” to draw a picture of your shape and write a sentence about it.

11 Day Two ZClick on your shape to learn more about it. oval square triangle diamond rectangle circle

12 ZClick to play “I Spy Shapes.”“I Spy Shapes.” ZUse “Kid Pix” to draw a picture using only shapes.

13 Day Three ZYour group will use binoculars to find your shape in your world. ZEveryone in your group will take a picture of your shape.

14 Day Four ZYou will create a shape poem. ZClick here to make your poem. Shape Poem

15 Day Five ZYour group will put all of your evidence together in the “Kid Pix” Slide Show.

16 Day Six ZToday your group gets to show everyone their case work.

17 Congratulations! You are now a Master Shape Detective.
