2 Poncho Field Gear originated in the United States Provides warmth
Can also be used as a sleeping bag, to cover the deceased, to carry injured, etc.

3 Jungle Gear Soldiers were outfitted with tropical jungle jackets, trousers, and steel helmets.

4 Standard Issued Equipment
Soldiers were equipped with combat socks, field towels, boxers, field jackets, canteen cups, e-tools, and rations.

Took a long time to heat the food and gave off harsh fumes.

Final Model: Jungle boot with better traction, easier to dry, more support and steel insoles to protect from punji sticks

8 standard food issued Tootsie pops were not a standard issue, but they came around during vietnam and offered a tasty treat for many soldiers. A Meal, Combat, Individual ration (MCI) Composed of “M” unit (meat entree, a “B” unit-bread, and a “D” can (desert costume)

9 Butter Bar: A Military slang for Esign or Second Lieutenant who wears a golden bar as their rank insigna.

10 P38 Can Opener: Known by some as the army’s greatest invention.
Will work on any size can or rim. Referred to as a John Wayne. Very useful when the power is out and can’t use an electric can opener.

11 SP Packet: A packet containing toilet items and cigarettes.

12 Dog Tags : Edge is rolled to the right,Soldier service is indicated,RA(regular army) blood type,religion. :social number was added on and all the same as before. 1970:no longer use service number. All have notch: placed in teeth on fallen soldier.
