AP Physics Monday 13.09.09 Standards: 1)a. Students should understand the general relationships between position velocity & acceleration for a particle along a straight line. Objective: SWBAT calculate average acceleration of objects with changing velocities. Agenda 1.Warm Up 2.Review HW 3.Average acceleration Notes 4.Average acceleration Practice Homework average acceleration practice lab write up due math skills test Thursday Warm Up Find the average velocity of a runner who travels 42m west then 30 m east then 12m south, in 290s? (Hint: Use trigonometry)

AP Physics Tuesday 13.09.10 Standards: 1a1: Given a graph of position, velocity, or acceleration vs. time students can identify positive, negative, and at rest intervals and can sketch a graph of each. Objective: position, velocity, and acceleration graphs. Agenda 1.Warm Up 2.Review HW 3.Collect Lab Write Ups 4.Position Velocity and Acc graph notes 5.Pos, vel. and Acc graph worksheets Homework position, velocity & acceleration worksheet. Warm Up Find the average acceleration of a person rolling down the hill from rest to 15m/s in 50s.

AP Physics Wednesday 13.09.11 Standards: Objective: Review for Math Skills Test Agenda 1.Warm Up 2.Correct Homework Homework Study for Test Warm Up A car decelerates at a rate of 40 m/s 2. It comes to a stop after 20 seconds. Solve and create a graph of the motion.

AP Physics Thursday 13.09.12 Standards: Objective: SWBAT score 80% or higher on their test. Agenda 1.Warm Up 2.Test Homework Turn in Acceleration HW Redo Warm Up What is the double angle formula. Write it down. sin(40)=2sin(?)cos(?)

AP Physics Friday 13.09.13 Standards: Objective: Agenda 1.Warm Up 2.Acceleration due to gravity Lab Homework Lab Report Due Monday Warm Up What would you change in order to linearize the following graph. x(m) t(s) 12 2 4 8 16 20 468 10

Distance,Displacement,Speed,V elocity distance vs. displacement -- walking speed vs. velocity -- running average velocity vs. instantaneous velocity – changing speeds vs constant speed.

Acceleration. displacement – change in position velocity – change in position over time acceleration – change in velocity over time. Position increases exponentially by a factor of x 2

Acceleration due to Gravity Lab What is the acceleration due to gravity & do different objects accelerate at different rates? - Develop an experiment that will allow you to find the value for acceleration due to gravity. -Lab Writeup: Due Monday -Be sure to: -Find a good way to make your height measurements. -Do multiple trials and average the values. -Choose objects that are more aerodynamic. -I am not giving you an equation to find acceleration with. Your graph should reveal the relationship. You may need to linearize your graph.
