1 About the Creative industries Did you know the creative industries in the UK contribute revenues approaching £60bn to the economy and employ more than 1.4 million people? So, what are the creative industry’s??? The creative industries are those that are based on individual creativity, skill and talent. They also have the potential to create wealth and jobs through developing and exploiting intellectual property. The creative industries include: Advertis ing Film and video Architec ture Music Art and antiques markets Perform ing arts Comput er and video games Publishi ng CraftsSoftwar e DesignTelevisi on and radio Design er fashion In the past if you studied Art it was thought that the only jobs you could do was teach or try and be a working artist. Today the Arts are part of the creative industry, which is one of the fastest growing industry’s at present
