1 1 2 5 Seconds in the Bible

2 Second Covenant Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Isa 55:3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you-The sure mercies of David. Heb 13:20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Heb 7:22 by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.

3 Second : A Better Covenant
Heb 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. Heb 9:23 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. Heb 7:19 for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

4 Second : A Better Covenant
Ushered in by Christ’s Death (Heb. 9:15-17) And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. We are Sanctified by this Sacrifice (Heb. 10:9-10). Then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

5 Second Commandment Matt. 22:39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Illustrated by Parable of the Good Samaritan (Lk. 10:25-37). Love requires we do no harm to our neighbor (Rom. 13:9-10). For the commandments, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet, and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

6 Second Commandment Love fulfills the law (Jas. 2:8-9).
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. Proper love will lead us to teach our neighbor the gospel. 2 Tim. 2:2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

7 Second Man 1 Cor. 15:47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. Adam was the first man (1 Cor. 15:45). And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. He brought death (1 Cor. 15:22). For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. Christ, the Second, brought Life (1 Cor. 15:22; 1 Jn. 5:11). And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

8 Second Coming Heb 9:28 So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Christ has promised to return (Jn. 14:1-3). He will come as He left (Acts 1:9-11). He will come unexpectedly (Mk. 13:32; 2 Pet. 3:10). He comes: To reward the faithful (Matt. 16:27). To Punish the disobedient (2 Thess. 1:7-9).

9 Second Death Rom. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rev. 2:11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death. Rev. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Rev. 20:14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
