2 BACKGROUND Founded in 2006 by Bjarke Ingels. Over 90 architects, builders, designers and thinkers. Young architectural company, characterized by an entrepreneurial spirit, true team-work across expertise areas and new ways of approaching conventional tasks. BIG’s architecture emerges out of a careful analysis of how contemporary life constantly evolves and changes. Headquarters are located in Copenhagen and 12 months ago they started an affiliate in New York.

4 ARCHITECTURE PROJECT Urbanism: The Bridge (Idea) Type: Housing and Infrastructure Year: 2005 Size: 100,000 m 2 Principle: constructing an inhabitable bridge by using apartments and office space as bridge piers.

5 Public Space: Forde Raadhus kuarter, Norway (Idea) Type: Competition Year:2009 Size: 17,700 m 2 Principle: Town Hall Quarter will be created as a gathering place for citizens, instead of an architectural piece that is admired from afar.

6 Body Culture: Hafjell Mountain Hotel (Idea) Type: Commission Year: 2007 Size: 11000 M2 + 332 Apartments Principle: A hotel and apartment house in the mountains that provides accessibility, circulation and logistics, the same standards as a modern hotel.

7 Media: GMoMA- Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art (Completed) Type: Exhibition Year:2008 Size: 30 M2 Principle: To reintroduce the public and private outdoor space to the urban fabric of the city.
