 This hummingbird fits into the birds.  Its scientific name is Archilochus Colubris.  The lifespan of this hummingbird is 5 years in the wild.

 The color of this hummingbird are pink, black, white, and a little bit of yellow. The females are usually green plumage.  The average length of this hummingbird is 3.6 -3.8.  Feathers are the body covering for this type of bird.  The tongue is a unique body part because the tongue can go well beyond the bill. The tongue is fork-like so it can groove along with nectar passes into the gullet.

 This hummingbird lives in the Rocky Mountains, U.S, and Southern Canada. It flies south to spend winter in warmer habitats.  This area is warm.

 Red and yellow flowers are what these hummingbirds eat.  It gets its food by dipping its bill into the flower’s throat and extends its tongue to drink.  This hummingbird can have up to two babies at a time.

 The hummingbird keeps itself clean by bathing in the dew on nearby leaves. Also it will bathe in waterfalls.  The muscles that power the wings of the bird account for about one-third of its body weight.  Proportionate to body size, a hummingbird’s heart is one of the largest of any warm- blooded animal, beating 5,001,200 times per minute.
