1 NATA Foundation Position Statement Process a.Ideas are solicited year-round i.Ideas are accepted through the NATA Foundation website http://www.natafoundation.org/about/leadership/committees/ pronouncements-committee http://www.natafoundation.org/about/leadership/committees/ pronouncements-committee ii.Ideas may be submitted directly to the PC through email or other forms of communication a.Ideas are solicited year-round i.Ideas are accepted through the NATA Foundation website http://www.natafoundation.org/about/leadership/committees/ pronouncements-committee http://www.natafoundation.org/about/leadership/committees/ pronouncements-committee ii.Ideas may be submitted directly to the PC through email or other forms of communication Solicit Idea (Year 1) b.Those submitting ideas for PSs are asked to include a 1-page proposal outlining ideas for recommendations & content. Included should be the key references which will support major recommendations. c.PC will ideas during June meeting, choosing 1-3 ideas for development. The review process includes the following questions: i.Will the idea result in a good PS for ATs? ii.Is there sufficient literature to support the PS? iii.Is there an AT who is an expert in the area & who can lead the writing group? c.PC will ideas during June meeting, choosing 1-3 ideas for development. 2 NATA Foundation Position Statement Process Author & Writing Group Selection (Year 1) a.Lead author (AT) invited by the PC b.Author packet sent to lead author c.PC liaison & subcommittee (2 additional members) assigned to PS by PC chair d.Lead author submits writing group members to PC for approval i.All COI and other forms (Authorship contribution form, Author contract, Conflict of Interest form) are submitted ii.Writing group should include 5-8 members iii.Writing group should include the following: 1.International experts in the area of topic 2.Practicing ATs in the area of topic 3.Practicing MDs/DOs in the area of the topic 4.Other healthcare professionals relevant to the topic d.Lead author submits writing group members to PC for approval i.All COI and other forms (Authorship contribution form, Author contract, Conflict of Interest form) are submitted ii.Writing group should include 5-8 members iii.Writing group should include the following: 1.International experts in the area of topic 2.Practicing ATs in the area of topic 3.Practicing MDs/DOs in the area of the topic 4.Other healthcare professionals relevant to the topic f.Writing group has 1 year to submit reviewable draft to PC Writing (Year 2) e.PC approves writing team no later than June meeting 2
