17. Aggravated Sexual Assault and Domestic Battery * John Wayne Bobbitt; gained national notoriety as a victim himself, when his wife made him famous by cutting off his penis in retaliation for his ongoing, continuous abuse towards her. Lorena Bobbitt then drove away, tossing the penis out her car window. A police search ensued to locate the missing penis, which was found and surgically re- attached. The incident led to a trial where Lorena Bobbitt was found innocent by reason of insanity, and in a separate trial, Bobbitt was found guilty of battery, but he was acquitted of sexually assaulting his wife.

Aggravated Sexual Assault with a Minor: * Mary Kay Letourneau; the 35-year-old elementary school teacher, and married mother of four; pleaded guilty in 1997 to having sexual relations with 13- year-old Vili Fualaau. Vili would later testify that they had sex some 300 to 400 times with Mary Kay. She served a seven-year sentence in prison. Letourneau has two daughters fathered by Fualaau, and they were married on April 16, 2005.

Aggravated Sexual Assault with a Minor: * Debra Lafave; 25 Tampa Bay teacher reaches a plea bargain agreement resulting in a guilty plea for two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior with a minor after being sexually involved with a 14 year old student. She was sentenced to three years of community control or house arrest, seven years of probation, and ordered to register as a sex offender.

Aggravated Sexual Assault with a Minor: * Pamela Joan Turner; the 27-year-old Tennessee woman is the latest teacher to be arrested for allegedly carrying on a sexual relationship with a student, in this case a 13-year-old boy. Turner, a Teacher at Centertown Elementary School, was charged with 13 counts of statutory rape and 15 counts of sexual battery for encounters with the child, which allegedly occurred at school and in the boy's home.
