10  4 th year of transitioning to College & Career Ready Standards in Math and English Language Arts (ELA)  Second year of transitioning to new College & Career Ready Standards in Science and History/Government.  Kansas just piloted the new Assessment in Math and ELA in Spring of 2014.  All 286 School Districts are piloting new teacher/leader evaluation instruments that include student growth in performance on multiple measures.

11  In 2013-14, all school districts were piloting their new evaluation model that met approved guidelines.  Schools will continue to work on improving the evaluation process over the next few years.  The use of student growth data to INFORM PERSONNEL DECISIONS will not come into play until the 2017-18 school year.

16  Accountability is customized at the building level, looking at: Achievement Growth Gaps Reducing Non-Proficient Students  Each building has a different target, based on where they started.  We have moved away from annual AYP targets to student growth over time.

23 COLLEGE AND CAREER READY means an individual has the academic preparation, cognitive preparation, technical skills, and employability skills to be successful in postsecondary education, in the attainment of an industry recognized certification or in the workforce, without the need for remediation.

35  We could increase the % of graduates entering postsecondary institutions?  We could decrease the % of our graduates needing remediation postsecondary?  We could increase the % of students successfully completing their first year? Second year?  We could get more kids into “hard to fill” programs?  THEN, we could close the gap between the % of jobs requiring postsecondary completion, and the % of Kansans acquiring postsecondary completion?
