11 Background  An Arts Commission was created in October of 2011 as an Ad Hoc Sub Committee Under the Beautification and Environmental Advisory Committee (BEAC). The Arts Commission reports directly to the BEAC via their liaison.  The Arts Commission consists of 7 Members -Ken Jones (liaison to the BEAC) -Tom Gargiulo (arts curator or administrator) -Justine Wintersmith (architect or landscape architect-public relations in art) -Sandy Miller (Leisure Services Advisory Committee) -Mike Beebe (Palm Coast Land Development Regulation Board) -John Sbordone (art educator) -John Sbordone (art educator) -Vacant (local artist) -Vacant (local artist)

12 Duties of The Review Teams (Reviews Only Art on City property, not Private Property) Arts Commission:  Evaluates art for appropriateness, color, style, materials used and that the art is not considered vulgar or offensive  Responsible for coordinating with the artist to provide the Parks Team with all information needed for installation (if any) and permitting as to wind loading, foundation plans and structural design Beautification and Environmental Advisory Committee:  Arts Commission will present to BEAC for advisory comments Parks Team:  Reviews for specific location for placement in the City.  Insures design meets City codes/ building codes  Has final say as to where the artwork will be located  Considers cost of maintenance
