Enjoyed because of increase wakefulness and physical activity while decreasing appetite. Feelings stem from the high levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine into areas of the brain that regulate feelings of pleasure Psychotic symptoms last for months after use. thin and beautiful has become increasingly important Rave culture encourages hard drug use as a means to personal freedom, self-discovery, and peer acceptance.

6 Ecstasy Ecstasy is a pyscho-stimulantive drug used mostly by teens and young adults Increase in Overdoses in past 5 yrs. “X” works by affecting the concentration in the brain. Changes the natural effects of serotonin that carries signals from one nerve cell to another. Which helps to modulate moods and emotions. MDMA is fun at first but very toxic to the brain, and can cause damage to the body and brain cells.

7 Heroin Days of needle users is past among teens…
Kids as young as 9 or 10 years of age coming to the hospital emergency rooms with Heroin Withdrawal. "Cheese" is Mexican black-tar heroin that has been diluted with crushed tablets of over-the-counter sleep medication. Kids enter treatment because "I was tired of feeling my bones hurting. I was tired of headaches, cold sweats and all that” from a 17 yr old.

Teens sometime are Waking in a stupor after the previous night's party, missing classes, falling behind and resort to failure at everything they do.
