Although most people living in or near North Africa were brown skinned, the Ethiopian from deep inside Africa is given special notice by the Gentile writer Acts and of Luke’s Gospel. He is a first fruits of the fulfillment of the prophecy that was written, "Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God" (Psalm 68:31).Psalm 68:31

6. Terms to Know A eunuch of great authority--Eunuchs (castrated or celibate) were generally employed for confidential offices in the East, and to some extent are still. Candace--the family name of the queens of Upper Africa, like Pharaoh or Caesar. Jerusalem to worship--that is, to keep the recent feast of Pentecost, as a Gentile proselyte to the Jewish faith.
