12. www.oceannet.org MEDIN model “data clause” for data collection Ensures (public sector) research and survey commissioning bodies adopt this best practice and have a contractual basis for the data gathering programs they commission Standard clauses that can be used in tender specifications Forms a fundamental part of the contract from the start Ensures that data management best practice and its associated costs addressed by Contractors (tenderers) at the tender compilation stage Includes implementation guidelines Collates experience from existing “data clauses” in contracts across the marine community in the UK
